Within the demands of everyday life, it is easy to feel disconnected from our core vitality and a sense of groundedness. We are complex physical, emotional and energetic beings, and within us are molecules of emotion that flow and sometimes gather to form blockages. These blockages can lead to chronic tension, physical pain and mental anxiety that may also trigger patterns of behavior and thinking. Core Breath is an experiential workshop that weaves the integration of mindful breath awareness and intention within a process of discovering what may be root causes within patterns of body and mind.
Grounded in the Four Foundations of Mindfulness, Mindfulness of Body, Sensation, Thoughts, and Internal Awareness, participants will be guided through different ways of using their breath to tap into the subtle body of emotions, energy, contraction and expansion. In the workshop, we will look into the anatomy of the body, and direct breath to help better articulate expression and voice. Elements of yoga, principles of Butoh, Core Energetics, and intentional improvisations will be woven through the workshop experience. Together, we will mine aspects of the human experience through movement, stillness, and meditation as a mode of reflection into deeper consciousness and inner vibrancy.
