Description: Explore how Butoh, Bioenergetics, and other somatic practices can tap into connective empathy and expression; individually and collectively. Deepen embodied intelligence to empower energetic awareness, neuroplasticity, and emergent presence in transforming divisiveness into belonging. The In & Through the Body workshop offers empathic space to feel embodied through deep self-reflection, creative explorations, and somatic tools you can use in everyday life.
· Have fun (play!) and nourish your body-mind.
· Gain more awareness and insight into your nervous system.
· Through meditative, creative, and somatic practices, explore your continuum of belonging from inner belief systems and established norms to systemic constructs.
· Refine how to radicalize belonging on your own terms, and envision how to metabolize this belonging in your personal and professional life.
· Develop tools to navigate discomfort into holistic understanding and integration.
· Experience practices for turning toward instead of against your inner self and one another.
· Engage in reflective inquiry on how intergenerational, historical, and systemic trauma may be influencing your perspectives.
· Cultivate creative embodied agency for problem solving in daily life situations.
This workshop is hosted by the DAIPANbutoh Collective and supported in part by the Seattle Office of Arts & Culture, 4Culture, and Shunpike.
